The Executive Director is under the direct supervision of the Chief and is the only employee of the Chief & Council. Overall, the Executive Director has the responsibility of ensuring that there are reliable, credible and accountable programs & services being provided by the many Departments of Cowessess First Nation; which includes the Post Office and the Chief Henry S. Delorme Mall. To accomplish this task, the Executive Director, in collaboration with the Executive Office, must ensure that all the necessary policies, procedures, processes and finances are in place to support the organization in achieving their goals and objectives.
The Finance Department manages the preparation of balance sheets, financial statements, cashflow, reports, day to day record keeping including all payroll, accounts payable and reciveable. It also manages audits, budgets, internalc ontrols, tax and reporting functions.
The Human Resources Office is responsible for managing all Cowessess First Nation Human Resource needs, including on Reserve and Urban staff. We work with other departments to ensure that all activities of the Cowessess First Nation are governed and administered in accordance to the framework outlined in the Personnel Policy & Procedures Manual as well as adheres to applicable Federal legislation.
