DEPARTMENT OF LANDS & RESOURCES

The Lands and Resources Department is responsible for managing all Cowessess First Nation lands including both reserve status and fee simple lands.

The department negotiates leases with local producers and Nation members on a cost per acre basis for crop and pasture lands.  Lands are managed in accordance with the Reserve Land and Environment Management Program (RLEMP).

WORKING TOWARDS
  • The Lands department is running smoothly and sees no real impact with the service we provide as Farmers cannot stop growth in the agriculture field.
